East China Sea Wonderland scenic resort is a coastal resort located at the southern foot of Wangye Mountain in Liushui Town. High cliffs and peaks along the sea stretch for thousands of miles. Waves of East China Sea roar like thousands of cavalries running at the same time. It is a nice place for watching the tide and the scene reminds visitors of a sentence from an ancient Chinese poem – “The huge waves tear banks apart; and foam piles up a thousand drifts of snow.” There is a “fairy well” in the resort. The depth of this well is more than 47meters and it has a diameter of over 50 meters. Water runs in the well like two dragons are jumping with white waves. Visitors may even hear roars from the well which echoes to the clouds. Legends say that the sounds come from the music from Dragon King’s palace. Some also say that there is a sea monster in the well. Others say that it is because that all cliffs are flawless around the well. These legends make the well more mysterious.
Some people say that it is Tieguaili, one of the Eight Immortals in the Chinese folklore, who dig the well. And some say that volcanic rocks during the Cretaceous period gradually formed the well. Anyway, East China Sea Wonderland is a great attraction for visitors.
